How to find us
Camp sites are open from 12:00 on Friday 27 August until 12:00 on Tuesday 31 August.
The plastic camp will be on Basingtoke Common (NOT the usual site near the Millstone pub). With apologies to those with sat navs, there is no post code for the Common so please following the driving directions below from J6 or Blackdam Roundabout.
The LH camp is on the site of the house, please follow directions below to the entrance and then the specific directions to your allocated camping area given to you when you booked in.
From the M3 J6: at Blackdam Roundabout turn right following signs A30 Old Basing/Hook. Once you have passed the crest of the first hill (about 400 yards from the roundabout) the entrance to the plastic campsite is on the left. (Please note you will be on a small dual carriageway, Traffic calming and reduced speed limits will be in force.)
From the M4 J11: Take A33 Basingstoke, signposted for Ring Road A339/M3 London. At Blackdam Roundabout take first exit left for A30 Old Basing/Hook. Once you have passed the crest of the first hill (about 400 yards from the roundabout) the entrance to the plastic campsite is on the left. (Traffic calming and reduced speed limits will be in force.)
Living History: Follow the directions above as far as the Blackdam Roundabout. Once there, take the exit on the roundabout signed A30 Old Basing/Hook. Once you have exited the roundabout, take the first left before the hill onto Red Bridge Lane (this is quite tight). Follow this road until you reach a tight left turn over a bridge. Take the right turn immediately before the bridge (again single track) and follow track onto site. Then follow directions given when you booked in.
Leaving site on Monday: There will be a one way system in place on Monday for those leaving plastic camp due to the section of dual carriageway at the entrance. When leaving the site please follow the A30 to Hook as there is no suitable area to U turn along the A30. Avoid travelling through Old Basing village. Rejoin the M3 at Junction 5 (Hook).
Other transport: Basingstoke Railway Station (3 miles). Bus route 10 from Basingstoke to Old Basing.
